I went on a hike around Lake Norman yesterday with a friend and we found a snakeskin which is nearly five feet long. The snakeskin represents the part of the snake that resonates with me the most: the ability to change, to transform, to shed old skin, to grow.
The wonderful ability of the serpent to shed its skin and so renew its youth makes it the master of the secret of death and rebirth. The moon, waxing and waning is the celestial body capable of this same ability and the serpent is the earthly counterpart.
I’m not sure what I will do with the snakeskin, but it is a wonderful treasure to have and it has come to me at a very interesting juncture in my life.
